Should I Sign The Medical Authorization That Was Sent By The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Carrier?

by admin on March 19, 2012

The Pennsylvania workers’ compensation insurance company or nurse case manager will at some point ask you to sign a medical authorization. What this does is allow them to speak with your doctor and obtain your medical records. It’s generally okay to go ahead and sign the authorization, but only after making some necessary changes to it. On the authorization you can state:

  • The length of time it is good for
  • Your doctor isn’t permitted to speak to the insurance company or case manager without you present
  • Only certain medical records can be accessed

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your workers’ compensation benefits, call the Pennsylvania Workers Comp Lawyers with Calhoon & Associates at 877-291-9675 to have an experienced PA. workers’ compensation attorney provide you with more information.
