Medical Fee Review Hearings

by admin on March 8, 2012

Medical providers who dispute the payment of their medical bills by the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Fee Review procedure should use the Request for Hearing to Contest Fee Review Determination form (http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt?open=514&objID=982114&mode=2) to appeal any Fee Review Determinations they feel were wrongly made, effective immediately.

Included in the request should be a proof of service, as specified by 34 Pa. Code Section 127.257(c). Once the appeal has been filed, it will be heard by 1 of the 7 Workers’ Compensation Judges who have been specifically appointed to be fee review hearing officers. The Bureau of Workers’ Compensation will file a request for hearing with one of these officers, and the parties will then be notified through a Notice of Assignment. After these steps have been completed, a hearing will be scheduled by the officer.
